Successfully completed the kidding stalls in the barn.  We put in two as I don't plan on breeding more than two does together.  Don't want to over load our wagon with all of them at once!
I am really proud to say I built them 99% on my own!  It wasn't too hard once I got going and was able to pull the vision out of my head.
Can't wait for babies!

Both Lacey and Birdie have just about a month to go before their due dates.  Both are looking VERY round!  Birdie's belly has even droped a tad so we're thinking she may have triplets this year.  All we can do is hope for smooth births and happy and healthy mommas and babies.
Time to get the kidding pens set up and the baby cams installed.  It will be fun to watch and really nice to be able to watch on my phone if I need to go shopping!

Craft projects

One of the many crafty things I do is recycle feed sacks into bags that can be used for all sorts of things.  Well, I got asked to make a few for our local feed store to sell and then was asked for my pattern.
Pattern?  Who works with a pattern?  LOL
So I set about to take photos as I made one.  Well I thought I was taking photos along the way.  Turns out my camera and memory card weren't speaking.  Sooo....I had to use my phone to go back and take the photos at the various stages that help show what I was trying to explain.  The joys of electronics.

Below is the one I completed for my "pattern".  Of course everybody always needs help when sewing right?
Our new kitten is such a big helper!  Check out the picture of her "helping"!  Anything that moved was fair game: the seam ripper, the scissors, the clips for holding things down, the bag, etc!

Our first post....

So thought I'd put up our first blog post.  It's been a busy summer getting the barn built, goat pens built, and the garden put in.  Never in a million years would I have thought we'd end up with goats!

It's cruising in on winter weather around here.  The goats have been growing their woolly coats to get ready.  They are pretty spoiled to have barns to sleep in, but most nights they sleep outside under the roof line.

We have also been busy with the girls and their "dates" with Taro and Knight so we can have some spring babies.  If all goes well we should have kids hitting the ground starting in February and running through April.  We hope!!

We have our online store up and running for our soaps so please stop in and take a look!  It is also linked on our Facebook page.  We've been making soap for over 3 years now and are excited to transition to primarily goat's milk soaps made with our very own raw goat's milk. We added wood wick soy candles to the line up as well.  If you have any suggestions or would like to see certain products or fragrances, please let us know.  We are always open to trying new things!

Christmas is just over three weeks away.  Hard to believe the year is almost over.  It's been a busy one, that's for sure.

Our goal is at least one post a week.  Maybe more maybe less depending on the craziness of life.  Take care and hug your loved ones every day!
Blessings!
